It grew into wanting to have his attention reserved only on me. I would do whatever it took;
changing around appointments, making the others take my clients, even claiming illness until he arrived.
His image plagued me like an obsession, always on my mind, resulting in sulking on days when I wouldn't see him.
There had to be someway to show him how I felt. I wanted him to see that I truly loved him. Was my devotion to only having his touch not enough?
I would find something....perhaps a gift?
A small box, wrapped delicately and yet clumsily with a ribbon would suffice.
Waiting at the counter, the bell signals his arrival. I hand him the box and he takes it with a coy smile. Slowly undoing the wrapping, his eyes peeking inside; the box drops and hits the ground with a thud.
